Because of two fines in 2025 € 3000,- each! -which is a lot of money for us- from The Municipality of The Hague, we decided to postpone most activities in 2026. And we filed a complaint, which is still under consideration… July 2026.

We started the bunkerexhibitions in 2002 and this year www.dewaterkant.nl since 1996, is 30 years old. We had planned all kind of festivities. Luckily Dooorp still gathered on Wednesday afternoons and Waterkant has bought us an outdoor ping pong table.

We also understand that live music on our terrace two times in a row, might have been a bit disturbing for our closest neighbours, at least 300 meters away though. But please we were all young once and the noise didn’t last longer than an hour on a Wednesday around 7 PM. New generations have to make their own mistakes too…We would like to emphasize that nature and beauty are not only meant for people who can afford houses of 2 million euro’s. The noise complaints were based on an excess of 3 and 7 dB, because we didn’t know10 dB is added when noise pollution is caused by music! The alderman’s advisor told us at the end of 2025 that we don’t need to worry as long as no more complaints come in.
