Nacht Achter De Duinen/ Night Behind The Dunes -analogy of The Hague’s anthem Oh Oh Den Haag beautiful city behind the dunes– is a new event series focused on The Hague’s cultural nightlife, its participants and its broader societal context. During our events we’ll look at the city’s nightlife history, it’s current state and potential future with a focus on the new Nachtvisie in meaningful live discussions with local experts. These talks will be surrounded by a program of arts and music by emerging talent in unique settings. Our first edition will be at @debootjes together with cultural partner @dooorp on the 23rd of May.

Wednesday, August 14th, art science graduate @milumulimilumuli unveiled a brand new exhibition in the bunker, along with a curated side program in collaboration with @didymus.artist.

With support from @fonds1818 and @pipdenhaag, the day will be packed with a workshop, performances, nice food and more. Plus, @___a.iii___a will be there to offer temporary tattoos that last about three weeks!

In the dead of night, the audience made the crossing by ferry and descended into the catacombs of the bunker, where the raw journey began. Surrounded by harp music, striking lyrics, and intensely moving interpretations of text and music, enveloped by comforting choral singing, the story of human fear and transformation was made tangible.

The pictures above were taken by de Haagse Pandbrigade/ Law Enforcement The Hague Municipality. A civil servant must have actually got paid to make this pictures from a car! Which we could have also given for free. We still do not get what this department has to do with our actvities? They summoned us to make a request for an environmental permit -omgevingsvergunning-, which we recently did. Because of these imposed restrictions we couldn’t give a closing party. It was held at The Fat Mermaid instead. Good for them but sour for us. For more information on this matter, see post in 2026.
Pepijn made a blue print for the post above. We never finished it. Instead Dooorp posted the video, here below, made by Pepijn Spijkers aka Visuals by Pep, also the builder of this website. It caused some confusion. We are debootjes, but it seems to become a brand in itself. Not only The Fat Mermaid took a ride on our ‘concept’, D.J. collective Tabass-co is doing the same, August 2026
